Our grapes
In order to produce terroir wines that brings you the unique tastes of our vineyards, we have chosen delicate, light-handed methods at every stage—from the establishment of the vineyards to the selection of production processes—that require minimal intervention. All Arcadia products are produced from grapes grown in our own vineyards. On 350 decares of vineyard land, we grow ten different grape varieties; Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Papaskarası, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Pinot Gris and Narince. In addition to these, we work with different grapes in our R&D parcel and those that perform well are included in the production process in time. Listening to our terroir and what it taught us, we decided to conduct specialized work on white wines: we produce original, lively whites with intense fruit flavors, minerality, and balanced acidity which can also age well. We chose to work with Sauvignon Gris and Pinot Gris grapes in addition to the well- known and popular Sauvignon Blanc due to their characteristics, their predisposition to the wine we want to make, and their adaptability to our terroir. At Arcadia Vineyards, we are growing for the first time in Turkey the Sauvignon Gris varietal, one of the oldest grape varieties used in the production of delicate whites. Narince, a native varietal from the Tokat region, quickly adapted to our terroir with similar characteristics to its origin and joined our whites. In reds, seeing the strong potential of Cabernet Franc in the region, we worked on our first monosepage of this grape in the 2011 harvest.

We established our winery in the middle of the vineyards by choosing the "on-site production" technique, which is a requirement to produce chateau type fine wines. The grapes are picked with the first rays of the sun and go directly to our winery in the middle of the vineyards, where they are processed without delay. This is very important to preserve the flavors of the grapes. Thanks to the special design of the winery, the grapes are processed only by gravity, without the use of pumps or other mechanical methods, and the wines are estate bottled in their purest form. When planting our vineyards, we chose the Lyre Trellis for the most part, which provides a large list of canopy management options for balanced ripening. From vineyard to glass, we take advantages of the latest technology and equipment in combination with traditional methods, paying attention to the smallest details that make the difference between good and better.
